Jonda Lu Shafner

Jonda Lu Shafner, 69, passed away on Friday Sep 26, 2025, surrounded by the people she loved most. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 4th, 1956 to her parents Marvin “Emmit” and Naomi ( Stewart) Davis.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents.

Jonda is survived by her loving husband Steven Popp, two daughters Tara Shafner and Carly Coggin (Shafner) husband, Ryan Coggin and her 3 favorite grandbabies Cadence Manos, Bentley Manos and Isla Coggin.

She had an infectious laugh and a heart full of love for her girls and grandbabies. She was happiest outside — walking, watching the wildlife, sitting around a bonfire, or with her toes in the sand at the beach with her family.

She was a die-hard UK basketball fan and loved the game of soccer, both playing it and cheering others on.

She’ll be missed more than words can say, but her love, laughter, and spirit will stay with us always.
