TATE, Joseph Earl “Flintman” Age 70 of Germantown, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017. He was born on August 16, 1947 in Mount Airey, NC to his parents, Joseph H. & Mildred (Wilson) Tate. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; aunt, Maggie Burkett; and mamaw, Linda Wilson. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathy Tate; mother, Mildred Montgomery; 2 sons, Ronnie (Missy) Tate, and Aaron (Beth) Tate; grandson, Josh Tate; granddaughter, Ashlyn Tate; great-grandchildren, Rawling, Charlotte, and Violet; beloved fur baby, Max; sister, Kathy Tate; and numerous other family members and friends. Joe was a proud veteran and served three tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked at Grismer for over 30 years and was a strong believer in his faith. Joe was also an avid arrowhead hunter. He loved his family and grandchildren very much and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 also at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at Trissel Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Joe’s memory.
