Joseph W. Wood

WOOD, Joseph W. Age 78 of Trotwood, passed away April 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo; parents, Joseph & Eileen Wood; nephew, Joseph Keith Mendenhall; and brother-in-law, Ralph Slone. Survived by daughter, Sharon (Danny Sauers) Lane; granddaughter, Amy (Collin) Lane Snyder; great grandchildren, Merric & Gaia Sol; brother, Michael; sister, Carolyn (Cal) Sexton; sister-in-law, Maxine (Ralph) Wilson; sister-in-law, Wanda Slone; brother-in-law, Lamarr (Connie) Slone; son, Dennis Hinzman; and nieces & nephews. Joe was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a Deputy with the Mont. Co. Sherriff's office, an investigator at the Mont. Co. Coroner's office, Vice-president of Personnel & Security Director of Stumps, Inc., and later Co-owner. He and his wife were original Owners of Higgins Station in Trotwood. Joe was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood, Scottish Rite and Antioch Shrine. One of Joe's many pleasures was having a special relationship with The Four Guys from Nashville, TN, and hanging out with the gang at the Old Hickory. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:30pm with Masonic services to begin at 4:30pm at Rogers' Funeral Home, 110 West Main St. Trotwood, OH 45426. Funeral services will begin 11:00 am Monday, April 23, 2012 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
