HUNN, Juanita Mae (Dillon) Age 89, died on June 29, 2014, in Dayton after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 30, 1924, in New Lebanon and lived within five miles of her birthplace her entire life. She was preceded in death by her mother Marie (Brumbaugh) Dillon and her father Harvey Dillon. She is survived by her daughters Diana M. Hunn of Kettering and Anita L. House (Don) of West Alexandria, grandson Clinton House (Lyndsay) of Eaton, granddaughter Valerie Durkle (Wesley) of Eaton, great grandchildren Wyatt House, Morgan House, Zion Durkle, and Bexley Durkle, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins, and also, many, many beloved friends and dear Star sisters and brothers. Juanita was a longtime member of Slifer's Presbyterian Church, Farmersville. She graduated from Dixie High School, New Lebanon, in 1942 and attended Miami Jacobs Junior College. She was a dedicated mother involved with the PTA and Mothers' Study Club that started Kindergarten for New Lebanon Schools and also a Brownies and Girl Scout Leader. She worked with the Farmersville Rainbow Chapter and Middletown Job's Daughters Bethel. In 2006 Juanita retired as the Clerk of Montgomery County Commission where she was employed for 35 years. She was a 64 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Farmersville Chapter #155, Past Worthy Matron (1957), Past Deputy Grand Matron Dist. 19 (1965), Past President 19th District Association, Chair Publicity Committee for Grand Chapter past 11 years, and Past President of the State District Officers' Association. She was a member and past president of the County Commissioners' Clerks and Engineers' Administrative Professionals Association of Ohio. Juanita helped organize and continue the Dixie High School Class of 1942 Alumni group. She was on the Board of the Montgomery County Credit Union for 35 years. The family wishes to thank many beloved relatives and friends who sent prayers, cards, and wishes the past weeks. Thanks also to the caring medical staff and volunteers at Hospice of Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital, and Brookhaven Rehab Center. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 5-8PM at Rogers' Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Eastern Star services will follow the visitation at 8PM. The Funeral service will be 10:30 AM at Slifer's Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Clayton Rd., Farmersville, with a visitation starting at 10:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Trissel Cemetery.
