Karen Shannon

Karen Shannon, age 76 of Xenia OH peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was born in San Diego CA to her father, Lloyd Runnels Sr., and mother, Ruth Runnels. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John Shannon Sr. Karen is survived her three children, Angie (Lance) Kerr, John Shannon, and Cindy Shannon; twogranddaughters, Elaine (Chris) Johnson and Grace (Zach) Houde; three siblings, Lloyd (Joan) Runnels Jr., Forest Runnels, and Mary (Butch) Johnson. Karen was a nurse at various nursing homes, where she treasured serving and loving on residents. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, and time with family and friends. Karen was a great wife and loving mother, she will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 11am-12pm with funeral service to begin at 1:00pm all at Rogers Funeral Home, 324 W. Main St., New Lebanon, Ohio 45345. Burial will follow the service at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
