Karl Robert Palmer

PALMER, Karl Robert Age 77 of Trotwood, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark H. & Pauline (Quillen) Palmer; sisters, Virginia Long & Dorothy Hartman; and brother, Mark Palmer. Karl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marika; his children, Victoria (Dwayne) Johnson, Christina (David) Timmons, and Alexander (Erin) Palmer; grandchildren, Brooklyn Kile, Carolyn & Katelyn Armstrong, Andrew, Christopher, & Emma Timmons; and Kian Palmer; and great-grandchild, Zareyah Easley. Karl is also survived by his loving nieces & nephews, extended family in Germany, & friends. Karl served in the Navy for 4 years and then fulfilled his dream of becoming a printer. He worked at the Dayton Daily News for over 30 years. After retiring from the newspaper he held several jobs including Wolohan Lumber, New Carlisle Tool & Die, and Senior Resource Center. Karl assisted Marika in operating the Trotwood Handivan for 18 years, making an impact in many seniors’ lives. He also enjoyed working with his daughter, daughter-in-law, and the employees of The Cleaning Authority. Karl attended Trotwood Church of the Brethren. He also enjoyed traveling, seeing Germany, Austria and China, and loved family vacations on the beach in North Carolina. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Trotwood Church of the Brethren, 208 E. Main St., Trotwood, Ohio 45426. Karl’s family would like this service to be a celebration of Karl’s life and opportunity for family and friends to visit and reminisce. They would also like to thank the staff at Brookhaven Retirement Community, Good Samaritan Hospital, St. Leonard’s Adult Day Care Program & Hospice of Dayton for their loving care.
