Larry Spencer Bickel

In loving memory of Larry Spencer Bickel (Pappy/Papaw) who passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024 at the age of 83.

Larry was the only son of Roy and Dessie Bickel, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Cheryl Bickel and their children Beth Price (Brian) and Randy Bickel (Belinda). He was a proud grandfather to Hailey, Abigail, Zachary, Aubree and Joshua, who brought him endless joy and pride.

Larry was born on December 11, 1940, in Dayton, Oh, and grew up on a farm in Farmersville, Oh. In high school, he was active in FFA and 4H, while also helping on the farm with the animals. After graduating from Farmersville High School in 1958, he earned an associate degree from Sinclair Community College in 1960. He began his career at Xerox Corporation as a technical support specialist for copiers before serving in the Army. After being honorably discharged in 1968, he returned to Xerox, where he continued his career for a total of 41 years, retiring in 2000.

He had a passion for aviation and held a private pilot's license. He loved cooking, gardening and canning; he took 1st prize for his grape jelly at the county fair. He enjoyed racing; in his younger years was part of a drag race pit crew. Larry was known for his strong work ethic, quiet demeanor and love through acts of service for his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and support his family. He was present for any family celebration or party.

Larry's legacy will live on through the Bickel and Price Families and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private memorial service will be held.

Rest in peace, Larry (Dad, Pappy/Papaw). You will forever be in our hearts.
