Larry Vincent Birt

BIRT, Larry Vincent Sr. Age 68 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at home with his children, after a battle with terminal cancer. Larry was born on Jan. 24, 1943 in Dayton to his parents, Howard Marion Birt and Flora (Bowling-Birt) Ellis. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 4thBn 11thMar 1stMarDiv (Rein). Larry was a master mechanic, loved motorcycles and fixing up hot rods. He was also a member of the Radical Cruisers Car Club. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Jack Sebring; and 4 uncles. He is survived by 5 children, Shannon, Michael, Melody (Stocks) Lutz, Larry Jr., and Patrick Birt; 6 step-children, Donald, Mark, Tammy, Debbie, & Denise Maloon, and Corey Young; 3 brothers, Marion, Freddie, and Jerry; 1 sister, Teresa; best friend, Tim O'Connor and Don Coleman; also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church,3241 Denlinger rd.,45406. with Pastor Elder Ernest Scales officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher House Foundation (www.fisherhouse.org/donate) in memory of Larry.
