Leo J. Logel, Jr.

LOGEL, Leo J., Jr. Age 92, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday March 28, 2018. He was born May 24, 1925 in Johnsville to the late Helen and Leo J. Logel, Sr. Leo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane; grandson, William J. Logel II; and siblings, James Logel and Carol Richards. He is survived by his daughter, Moira Logel; son, William J. Logel; grandchildren, Chasteti B. Taylor, Kathleen T. Logel, Abbie E. Logel, and Sarah Logel; sister, Gloria (James) Roe. Leo was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He also organized the 31st Dixie Division Reunion and wrote the newsletter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Leonard’s Health and Rehab and Hospice of Dayton for the care they provided for Leo. A visitation will be held Tuesday April 3 from 5PM to 7PM at ROGERS’ FUNERAL HOME, New Lebanon. The funeral service will begin at 10AM Wednesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
