Lillian (Akers) Papie

PAPIE, Lillian (Akers) Age 83, of New Lebanon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013. She was born on June 14, 1930 in Gratis to the late Lloyd and Bessie (Lane) Akers. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 26 years, Fred; infant child; granddaughter, Tasha Longyear; brothers, Vernice "Babe," Roscoe, and Ronnie; sister, Geraldine "Gerry" Storer; and sisters-in-law, Virginia, Gloria "Giz," and Joann. She is survived by her daughter; Pamela (Kern) Carpenter; son, John (Danette) Papie; grandchildren, John Lukas and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Noah Longyear of Indiana and Foster Johnson of Brookville; siblings, Maurice, Margaret Oda of Florida, Charles, and Joann Dillon; special friends, Dr. Rick and Shari Sharrer and their daughters, Emily, Erin, and Abby; and her special church friends. Lillian provided care to many people for many years and always worried about someone else, and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses of Crossroads Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Lillian. The Visitation will be Thursday, October 17 from 11AM to 1PM at ROGERS' FUNERAL HOME, New Lebanon with the Funeral Service beginning at 1PM. Burial will follow at Trissel Cemetery, New Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian's memory may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45458.
