Linda Holderman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, was born on November 24, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, in Eaton, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and the simple joys of life.
Linda’s journey began in her hometown, where at the tender age of 13, she met the love of her life at Dixie Middle School. Though quiet and kind-hearted by nature, Linda's warmth radiated most brightly among those she held dear. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and her beloved animals, Alice and Murphy, her companions who shared in her gentle spirit.
Throughout her life, Linda demonstrated remarkable strength and diligence. She was a very hard worker at various jobs, dedicating herself fully with quiet perseverance and a steadfast sense of responsibility. Her hands crafted much more than meals; she crafted memories. She loved the holidays with her family, a treasured delight especially adored by her late husband Ernie and their children—a testament to her nurturing soul and the loving atmosphere she fostered within her home.
Linda’s passions extended beyond the kitchen. In her free time, she delighted in camping, fishing, and painting pictures, finding beauty and solace in nature and creativity. These hobbies not only enriched her life but also inspired those who shared in these moments with her.
Her family was the center of Linda's world. She is survived by her devoted children Melissa Brooks (and spouse Guy Brooks), Ieshsa Engle (and spouse Randy Engle), and Dave Holderman (and spouse Debi Holderman). Her legacy continues in her grandchildren Stacy Kidd, Paula Heltsley (James Heltsley), Sean Brooks, Chelsea Brooks, Kady Hughes (Josh Holt), Kourtney Gebhart (Kyle Gebhart), Erica Harper (Zack Harper), Steven Creech, Derek Holderman, and Ryan Holderman (Brook Holderman). The light of her great-grandchildren—Allie Kidd, Matt McFerran, Chelsea McFerran, Cassie McFerran, Jennifer Heltsley, James Heltsley, Lillian Heltsley, Dillan Holt, Anna Talley, Harper Talley, Keith Holt, Kameron Holt, Krew Gebhart, Kash Gebhart, Carly Harper, Gabriella Harper, Mason Holderman, Wyatt Holderman, Sawyer Holderman, Savannah Holderman, Lucas Holderman, and Noah Holderman—shines brightly, a testament to the enduring love she sowed so tenderly.
Linda was also comforted in her final days by her only living sibling, Vernon, who, alongside her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, surrounded her with affection and care. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse Ernie Holderman, her mother Edna Boggs (Combs), Quinton Boggs, and her mother-in-law Octava Holderman Stiles.
