Louis "Skip" Esken, Jr.

Louis “Skip” Esken, Jr, age 78, of Trotwood, passed away at his daughter’s home on Saturday, August 22, 2020. He was born in Dayton, OH on December 6, 1941, the son of Louis Esken, Sr. and Wanda Fealy. Skip was a volunteer firefighter for both Madison Township and Jefferson Township for over 50 years while also working full time for the Montgomery County Engineers Office where he retired in 2003 after 30 years. Skip enjoyed spending time with family/friends, camping and playing tonk. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who is survived by his wife, Dorothy Esken; 4 children, Chris (Melissa) Esken, Patricia (James) Kiefer, Wanda (Jason) Esken and Amanda (Antonio) Esken; 11 grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Zach, Chassidy, Haley, Antonio Jr., Samiyah, Iyzaiah, Noah, Devon, and Jeremiah; 4 great grandchildren, Jaykob, Kendra, Jaxon, and Seirra; 3 sisters, Juanita Campbell, Cathy (Bob) Coyle and Melva Ruff; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends, John (Peggy) Flick. He was proceeded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 851 South Elm St., West Carrollton on Saturday, August 29, 2020 where Pastor Doug will be officiating. Viewing will be held from 3pm to 6pm with funeral services following at 6pm. After the funeral services there will be a procession through Jefferson Township ending at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Arrangements in care of Rogers Funeral Home.
