Louis Joseph Graham

GRAHAM, Louis Joseph Newton age 86, passed away on November 26, 2013 at his residence in Watertown, TN. He was born in Maustown, OH and as a teenager, dropped out of high school to join the Navy in 1944 during WWII. He fought for the liberation of the Philippines and later in the invasion of Okinawa, Japan, where he was injured during one of many kamikaze attacks on his ship, and earned the Purple Heart Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and then joined the Army in 1949 and served in Korea during the Korean War. After a total of over 5 years of service in two wars, he was honorably discharged in 1953. He later worked as an electrician and then as a Systems Analyst for the Federal Center in Battle Creek, MI, retiring in 1987. He loved spending time with his family and was an exceptional golfer. The memorial service celebrating Lou's life will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon, OH on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Interment with full military honors will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. The pallbearers will be his three sons and three grandsons, with the Funeral Service conducted by his son-in-law, the Reverend John Juneman. Lou is preceded in death by his parents, Marco and Martha (Carpenter) Graham, brothers Marco Graham, Jr., Paul Graham and Clarence Graham, and sisters, Clara Bown, Edith Ross, Ethel Graham and Arlene Frary. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie (Dorsey) Graham of Watertown, TN, sister Mary Fouse of Dayton, OH, his sons and their wives, Lou and Lisa Graham of Ft. Worth, TX, Bill and Cindi Graham of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, and Marc and Laura Graham of Castle Rock, CO, and his only daughter and husband, Trina and John Juneman of Watertown, TN, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Encounter Church, (P.O. Box 2397, Lebanon, TN 37088, www.encounterchurch.co).
