Marilee King

KING, Marilee passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Cincinnati on March 21, 1927, she was the only child of Carl and Maida B. Sweet. She graduated from Fairview HS in Dayton. At the age of 37 after raising her sons she started full time at Wright State University, earning a degree in Education in 1969. She taught for 23 years at Olivehill Elementary and took great pride in being a Trotwood resident for 55 years. She had a lifelong love of learning, was fiercely independent, adored animals (especially her three dogs Snoopy, Opus and Rowdy), and cherished spending time with her loved ones. She was always a Mom to everyone in her family, her many students, and countless second sons and daughters. She is survived by her three sons; Peter J. King, Jr. (Jan) of Norwalk, CT, Michael L. King (Jeanine) of Glenwood Springs, CO, and Stephen J. King (Linda Caron) of Dayton. She had 10 grandchildren; Andrea Brasoveanu (Cristian), P. J. King III, Robyn Breault (Joe), Sean King, Hillary Chamberlain (Tony), Philip Clauson, Ted King (Jessica), Margaret King; David King and Gabriel King. And she had five great grandchildren; Anna Breault, Joseph Breault Jr., Dawson Chamberlain, Ryan King and Alexis Brasoveanu. The viewing will be on Thursday, April 5th, 2012 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home, 110 W. Main Street, Trotwood. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 6th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., also at Rogers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals (SICSA), 2600 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, www.sicsa.org.
