Mary A. Hitchings

HITCHINGS, Mary A. 96, of Trotwood, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Walter W. Hitchings; special friend of 20 years, Mr. Virgil Patrick; and five siblings. Mary is survived by her daughter, Doris J. (Ronald) Wilt; son, Charles W. (Barbara J.) Hitchings; granddaughter, Laura J. (Ronald) Franz; great-grandsons, Dean and Cole Franz; brother, Frank Slemker; and many more family and friends. Outdoor activities such as camping and biking, raising gourds and flowers, working in the yard, volunteering at Maria Joseph, crocheting hats for newborns in hospitals, and crafts gave her enjoyment. Family and friends gave her the most pleasure in life. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22 from 11AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at Rogers' Funeral Home, Trotwood with Phil Hohulin officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Vitas Hospice.
