Pressel, Mary Lou (Benner-Hoit) wife of Robert James Pressel. Natural parents Burnett and Opal Benner. Beloved adopted parents Charles and Mary Elizabeth Hoit. Born in Jacksonburg, Butler Co., Ohio on July 9, 1931 at the Hoit homestead. Moved to Germantown in 1940 where she later met her beloved husband Bob. They were married in 1952. They had a wonderful life and reared 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters. Lived in Sunsbury, Germantown and Trotwood. She loved to read, to cook, plant flowers, crochet and sew. And she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. All her children took special care of her. Mary Lou was a member of First Grace Brethren Church on Stonequarry Rd. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob in 1993; her parents, the Hoits; granddaughter, Jessica; great-grandsons, Cody and Elijah; and son-in-law, Joe Arnett. She is survived by her sons; Robert L. Pressel of Dayton, Tony Dale Pressel of Trotwood, and Randy E. Pressel of Trotwood; daughters: Debra K. Arnett of Miamisburg, Rebecca J. Van House (Paul) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sandy L. Jakovenko (Jake) of Stanton, Ky; and three daughters-in-law, Pat, Doris and Jackie. Grandchildren: Michael Arnett, Adam (Mindee) Arnett, Krissy (Vickie) Arnett, Julie (Nate) Hegerty, Laura Pressel, Amanda Pressel, Jeremiah Pressel, Chad (Bernice) Pressel, Brian Pressel, Jennifer (Mike) Pressel, Angela Van House, Danny (Crystal) Van House, Jason (Jennifer) Jakovenko, Jamie Jakovenko, Katelyn Jakovenko. Great-grandchildren: Alex and Eric, Carston, Tyler, Briana and Corissa (twins) and Alivia, Inara and Tanner, Zoe and Jacob, Finley, Javyn. Special nieces and nephews; Dee, Paula, Evalee (Owen), Linda H., Linda P., Steve (Candy), Larry, Rick (Bobbie). The family will receive friends Friday, August 16 from 5-7PM at ROGERS’ FUNERAL HOME, Trotwood. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 17 at 11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Trotwood. There will be a luncheon at First Grace Brethren Church, 2624 Stonequarry Rd, Vandalia, 45414 immediately after the burial. Contributions in Mary Lou’s memory may be made to First Grace Brethren Church and/or Trotwood Fire and Rescue.
