Nancy Lee Leis, age 85, of New Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Friday morning, October 4, 2024.
Nancy was born April 1, 1939, in Dayton Ohio, the daughter of Leo and Margaret (Pocsi) Bowersock. Through the years, she and husband Duane built a strong, loving family, and a thriving family farming operation. Nancy was also instrumental in the success of her husband’s 65-year career at Micro Tool Service. She was passionate about spending time with loved ones, gardening and flowers, traveling, and taking care of her grandchildren.
Her unconditional love and kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering devotion to family, friends, and farming is a lasting, impactful legacy that lives on with those who know and love her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her father and mother, a devoted husband of 65 years, Duane, and grandson, Kevin Gratsch. She is survived by a loving family, including brother Robert, daughters Debbie (Steve) Gratsch, Sheri (Rick) Peters, Missy (Mark) Shell, and son DJ (Christy) Leis; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon, with burial to follow at Trissel Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, October 10, from 5-8 p.m.
Donations may be made in Nancy’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
