On June 22, 2022, Pamela Sue Hill (nee Amato), of New Lebanon, OH, passed away peacefully at the age of 76, with her husband by her side. Pam is survived by her husband of 27 years, Terry Hill, and two of her children from her first marriage: Michelle Phebus, of Beavercreek; and Anthony Shay, of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Kalina, Sydni, and Nolen Phebus; and Marin Shay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul A. and Mary Leona Amato, as well as her identical twin daughters: Victoria L. and Veronica A. Shay. A few words from those closest to her: Having been around the world with the military, I knew the moment I met her that she was different from any other women I had ever met. She was a good woman with a great heart all while taking good care of her teenage kids as a single parent. She accepted me for who I am and incorporated me into her wonderful life… giving me the ability to benefit from her presence and make me an even better man. Some things I learned from my mom is that everything happens for a reason, so never give up; be strong; take one day at time and give it all you’ve got; love with all your heart and with no conditions. And although my heart is hurting… who you were and the life you lived will live on in those of us who remain. For me, she had an uncanny ability to just listen to me when I reached out, without judgement. Never smothering but always mothering. I will always remember her strength and her sense of humor, even in the end, when she ever so gracefully and without words, stuck her tongue out at us with a smile on her face… basically saying: “Yes, I am ignoring you… and yes, I am fine. Now stop asking me!” 😊 For all things that she brought into this world and for all of those whom she had an impact on, we are all grateful! In honor of her request no Funeral or Memorial Services will be held.
