Peggy Joann Stewart

Age 91, of Huber Heights, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was born on April 2, 1933 in Otway, Ohio. She graduated from Waverly Ohio High School in 1951 as the salutatorian. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zachary Taylor Mitchell and Mary Mae (Lykins) Mitchell, brothers Rodney Mitchell and Eugene Mitchell, husband Robert E. Stewart Sr., son Robert E. Stewart Jr; daughter-in-law, Julie Kay Stewart; and granddaughter Sarah Jessica Stewart. Survived by her son, Richard E. Stewart and grandson Matthew Z. Stewart of Huber Heights.

Joann was a faithful Christian attending CityLight Church in Riverside, Ohio. Joann loved reading mystery novels, collecting recipes, cooking and spending time with her family. Her given name was Joann Mitchell, but she wanted to have three names so she gave herself the first name of Peggy.

Joann was almost always smiling and inherited her father’s positive outlook in the face of life’s difficulties. Even when she was in the hospital, the medical personnel would comment on how sweet and kind she was.

Visitation will be from 12-1pm with funeral service to begin at 1:00pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at CityLight Church 4242 Needmore Rd. Riverside, Ohio. Interment will take place at Dayton Memorial Park, 8135 N. Dixie Drive, Dayton, Ohio.
