Phyllis Jean Slyder

Lewisburg

Phyllis Jean (Honious) Slyder, 95, of Lewisburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025. She was the beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother of thirteen, and great-grandmother of twenty-five, great-great-mother of twenty-four and a great-great-great-grandmother of one, lived a life full of love, laughter, and creativity.

Phyllis was the oldest surviving of five. Her sister Donna Honious Lockhart, her brothers Paul, Bill, and Harold Honious. She was a constant source of warmth and kindness to everyone who knew her. A woman of great spirit, Phyllis found joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a deep passion or crafts – whether it was plastic canvas, shirts made of glitter, or any kind of creative handiwork, she spent many happy hours bringing beauty to the world through her hands.

She was also an avid Bingo and card player, and loved going to play the slots. She also enjoyed the camaraderie of friends and family in many shared activities. Her smile and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all who played alongside her.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Darrell Slyder; her sons Darrell (Pete) Slyder, Jr.; Joe Slyder; her daughter Pam Creech.

She is survived by her daughter Pat (Dave) Smith of Lewisburg, OH and son Jim (Bernice) Slyder of Eaton, along with many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren and countless friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and joy.

Phyllis' strength, love, and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. A Celebration of her life will be held on a Date and Time soon to be determined, and she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton; an organization close to Phyllis' heart.
