Richard I. Barr

BARR, Richard I. Age 81 of Brookville, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday evening, February 15, 2011 surrounded by his devoted family. Dick was proud to have served his country during WW II with the U.S. Marine Corp and later retired from DESC after many years of faithful service. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lena Barr and a dear sister Jenny Fisher. Dick truly enjoyed golfing and bowling with his buddies, but aside from spending time with the love of his life, his wife of 60 years Maxine (Huffman), he cherished most his children, sons Rick (Tracy) Barr, Randy (Shellie) Barr, daughters Diane (Ben) Story, Denise (Joe) Treser, grandchildren, Scott (fiancé Kara) Carden, Holly Story, Eric Barr, Taylor and Shannon Barr and his new great grandchild Brady Carden. Also survived by his brothers Roy, Bob, Clarence and Jack (Nellie) Barr, sisters Phyllis Chasteen, Betty (Bob) Vagedes and many more relatives and special friends. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the ROGERS’ FUNERAL HOME, 324 W. Main St., New Lebanon with entombment to follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Special thanks to his caregivers Missy, Coleen, Ursula, and Denise.
