Richard D. Johnson

JOHNSON, Richard Dean Age 87 of New Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 9, 1931 to his parents, Robert Dean & Mary (Borman) Johnson who have preceded him in death along with siblings, William Johnson, Sue Nelson, and Patricia Lackmond; son, Richard A. Johnson; and grandson, Andrew Sparks. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Y. Johnson; children, Tony (Connie) Johnson, Robin Y. Sparks, and Jerry A. (Beth) Johnson; grandchildren, Billi Coehick, Aaron (Aurora) Johnson, Jeremiah (Angela) Johnson, Mckenzie Johnson, Sophie Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, and Gabrielle Sparks; great-grandchildren; Reagan Ulsh, Nolan Purk, Samual Purk, and Wyatt James Johnson; brother, David P. Johnson; and many more extended family members and friends. Richard worked for the Dayton Daily News for 28 years and will be dearly missed. Memorial visitation will be held from 12-1 PM with a memorial service to follow beginning at 1:00 PM on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at Rogers’ Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Father Vincent Chembakassery officiating. A procession will follow the service to Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery for a committal service.
