KIRVES, Richard L. Born November 29,1933, passed away on November 17, 2018. Richard served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. DeLong. He was a retired plumber with 31 years service, working out of Local 162. He also worked at Chrysler, Local Union 775 for 11 years in their Maintenance Dept. Richard was the owner of the Woodbrook Gun Club and was an avid trapshooter and sporting clay shooter. He liked to play pool and fish. Richard was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3288 and AMVETS 1789, joining AMVETS in 1978. In addition, he was a member of American Legion Post 613 and the NRA. He was predeceased by his Son, Richard Scott and his grandson, Brandon. He leaves behind a Sister, Karen Kirves Grogan, Brunswick, GA, Niece, Charyl Kirves Hyre (David), Cape Coral, FL, Nephew, Gary Kirves (Shanon), Nashville, TN and Great-Nephew, Daniel Dearth, Columbus, OH. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Rogers Funeral Home, Trotwood, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018, prior to burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Trotwood, Ohio In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dayton Childrens' Hospital, Attn: Foundation, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404 in Richard's Memory. www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
