Richard E. Sempier

Sempier, Richard E. 87, of West Alexandria, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his home. He was born April 23, 1934 in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Robert and Gertrue (Merkle) Sempier. Richard retired from the United State Air Force after 20 years of service. After his retirement, Richard worked as a letter-carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 61 years, Bobbie (Hoggard); and sister-in-law, Dorothy Sempier. Richard is survived by his children, Kimberly (Jasper) Jackson of South Carolina, Deborah (Ronald) Williams of West Alexandria, Rick Sempier of West Alexandria; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert Sempier and Ronnie (Margaret) Sempier. Visitation for Richard will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, with interment to follow.
