Richard E. Van Ausdal

Age 84 of New Lebanon, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 12, 1941 to his parents, Ralph & Carolyn Van Ausdal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Don and Harold Van Ausdal.

Richard is survived by his wife of 47 ½ years, Dianna “Skip” Van Ausdal; sister, Carolyn Ann Cox (Kenny); 3 daughters, Shana Thompson (Doug), Rebekah Hoff (Roger), and Andrea Bruss; grandchildren, Douglas Thompson (Becky), Katelyn Thompson, Caroline Thompson, Mikayla Bowser, Karlee Farmer, and Adleigh Bruss; and great grandchild, Emerson Louise.

Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He worked at McCall’s for 22 years and eventually retired from New Lebanon Schools where he worked as a custodian. He loved his family, golfing with his 3 golf buddies, and his loving dog, Maggie. He will be dearly missed.
