Rick Alvin Powers

Rick Powers, age 65, of New Lebanon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by loved ones after a six-year battle with colon cancer. Rick was born to Alvin and Norma Powers on April 14, 1956 in Jellico, TN. He was preceded in death by his father: Alvin Powers. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother: Norma Powers; wife: Vickie Powers, married 47 years; Children: Melisha (Mike) Marshall; Grandchildren: Dalton and Kolton Marshall; Siblings: Randy Powers, Robyn (Dean) Schreiber, Ranjani Powers; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends whose lives he touched. Rick was proud to be a Veteran in which he served for the United States Army. He retired from WPAFB after 25 years of service working as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and loved tinkering in his garage. Some of his enjoyments were working on older cars, history, music, and spending time with his grandchildren. Rick will be fondly remembered as a caring man who would do anything to help out his family, friends, or even a stranger. A visitation will be held 5:00pm – 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Rogers Funeral Home New Lebanon, OH 45345. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 with arrival between 9:00am – 10:00am. Service will start at 10:00a. Reverend Clifford Hurst will be officiating. Interment to follow at Dayton National Cemetery 4400 W. Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rick Powers to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
