Dawson, Roger Lee A golden heart stopped beating on April 26, 2021. Roger Lee Dawson, 85, of West Alexandria, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at Grandview Hospital. He was born June 28, 1935 to Robert and Pauline (Spitler) Dawson. Roger retired from Dayton Power and Light after 45 years of service. He was a Little League manager in West Alexandria for many years. Roger and his beloved wife, Helen, were the original founders of Santa Villa in West Alexandria. Roger will be remembered for his love for everyone, most importantly his family. He is survived by his children, Chris (Jenny) Dawson, Craig (Dorothy) Dawson, Todd (Carol) Dawson, Tami (Matt) Justiana; grandchildren, Heather Tackett, Cara (Brian) Fisher, Roger Dawson, Holly (Shannon Wells) Dawson, Andy Dawson, Jesse (Michelle) Dawson, Willy Dawson, Corey Dawson, Adam (Rachel) Dawson; step-grandchildren, April, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Chandler Dawson, Dakoda Dawson, Harlyn Dawson; step-great-grandchildren, Nate, Bryant, Nevaeh; sister, Melva (Ernie) Tarjan; sister-in-law, Jean Dawson. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Dawson and Pauline Wogoman; step-dad, Howard Wogoman; loving wife, Helen Dawson; brother, Larry Dawson; and infant son, Steven Roger Dawson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the funeral home to begin at 11 a.m., with the family to receive guests an hour before. Interment will follow at Holp Cemetery.
