Blake, Russell Alan, was born October 17, 1961 – passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Butler/Warren Counties in Middletown on March 24, 2025 after a stroke and lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 63. He worked mainly in the sales industry where he was known for his knowledge of electronics and computer systems.
Russell was seriously one of a kind and will be missed by his family and friends. Even though his health deteriorated the past few years, his memories of good times were always with him and he would smile when reminded. Russell left an impression on everyone he met and that was what made him special in so many ways. He loved the outdoors, walking trails with his dogs, fishing, and hunting mushrooms. For all of those close to him, he will be remembered as being a tough guy at times, but under that exterior was a tender heart that had compassion for animals, family, and the less fortunate. He loved his dogs who in his later years became his world, referring to them as his babies.
Russell, everyone you left in this world will miss you terribly but are happy that you are home, free, and out of pain.
Russell is survived by his son Nolan (Samantha) Blake and daughter Alyssa Blake and her friend Mathew. He lost his beloved daughter Sara in 2001 as a result of a car accident. Grandchildren include Hudson and Gunner Blake, and Alyssa’s daughter Cara. Surviving siblings are: Karen Qualls, Dave (Shari) Blake, and Gary (Jamie) Blake. Russell is preceded in death by his daughter Sara, brother-in-law Larry Qualls, and parents Walter and Jane Blake. He was also the dad of two black labs, Kimber and Nellie. What he ate, they ate.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a time when all family members can be present. A special thanks goes out to the incredible staff of Atrium Medical Center and the Hospice of Butler/Warren Counties for the compassionate care they all provided. We were so blessed to have them part of the team.
