Simon Francis Giggy, born August 21, 1981, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on September 17, 2026. He fell asleep and woke up to see Jesus, a passing that carries the same faith-filled spirit he spoke of so often in life.

Simon was bigger than life—fun-loving, devoted, and deeply rooted in the people and places he cherished most. He loved his family, his friends, and the comfort of home, and even with his big personality, he found lasting joy in life’s simple gifts: being at home, talking with family, catching up with a friend, and sharing everyday moments that became lasting memories. He grew up in Michigan on Marble Lake, where days were shaped by jet skis, boats, fishing, and a love of the water that stayed with him throughout his life.

He was a man of many passions. Simon earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and worked as a welder at Forvia for 10 years. In high school, he played football, baseball, and basketball, and his love of sports never faded. He remained a loyal fan of Michigan football, the Lions, and Red Wings hockey. He also loved Marvel comics and all scary movies, embracing both adventure and excitement with enthusiasm.

Those who knew Simon will remember the warmth and energy he brought into a room. He was an amazing cook, much like his dad, and his meals were full of flavor, creativity, and delight. He was always trying something new in the kitchen, turning food into an expression of love and personality. He adored animals, especially the dogs and cats he loved to gather close, often settling into his chair and asking for one to be brought over so he could play and snuggle.

His faith and humor often walked hand in hand. One treasured memory captures him perfectly: Simon would often say, “Jesus knows my name!” and then with joy would share what amazing thing had happened to him. It was a reflection of the way he moved through life—with wonder, conviction, and a spirit eager to celebrate goodness. He was also a proud and loving presence at Brooke and Michael’s sports games, showing up with the kind of support that made itself felt and remembered.

If Simon were asked what his greatest accomplishments were, he would have said without hesitation that they were being a husband and a father. That truth was evident in the way he lived. He loved fully, gave generously, and made his family the center of his world.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Giggy, and by his daughter, Brooke Giggy, son Michael Giggy, who carry forward the love and strength he poured into their lives. He is also survived by his mother, Kay Zerbel; his brother, Christian Giggy; and his sister, Jackie Giggy. Each of them shared in the laughter, love, and unmistakable presence that made Simon who he was, and each holds a place in the story of a life so vividly lived.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Giggy. The bond Simon shared with Michael remained a meaningful part of his life, and his love for him was enduring.

Visitation will be held on September 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home–New Lebanon, 324 West Main Street, New Lebanon, OH 45345. A funeral service will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the same location.

Simon Francis Giggy will be remembered for his laughter, his faith, his love of family, his joy in the water, his enthusiasm for sports and stories, and the way he made home feel full of life. His memory will remain a blessing to those who knew and loved him.
