Sonya L. Sears

Age 70 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025. She was born in Nashville, TN on July 15, 1954 to her parents, Billy and Janice Gross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda, Kathy, Rusty, and Eddie; son-in-law, Greg Welsh, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Sonya is survived by her husband, Paul Sears; children, Janice (Donald) Ingram of Danville, VA, Mark (Chastina) Belongia of Newland, NC, Harold (Kathy) Belongia of Clintonville, WI, and Faye Welsh of Gays Mill, WI; siblings, Maryann Sears of Dayton, OH, Vickie and Donald Scott of New Lebanon, OH, Rev. Russell and Kim Criswell of Macon, GA , and Lonna Boshears of Vandalia, OH; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, with one on the way; also many more family members and friends.

Sonya enjoyed watching movies, playing BINGO with her sisters, dancing, and going to concerts. Most of all she loved being a wonderful and loving grandma.

Visitation will be held from 10-11am with funeral service to begin at 11:00am on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery. www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
