Sterling Bellman

April 25, 1964 — June 10, 2026

Sterling Arthur Bellman, age 62, of Miamisburg, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Sterling was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Laura (Lovell) Bellman; his three daughters, Audra Bellman, Sarah Kierstead (Bellman), and Tara Lewis (Bellman), and his son, Max Kogler.

Born on April 25, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio, Sterling was the son of Donald Bellman and Wilma Bellman (Price), both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Bellman. He is survived by his sister, Tina Roach (Bellman).

Above all else, he was a proud and loving “Papaw” to his grandchildren: Dylan Weidle, Landon Weidle, Teddy Kierstead, Archie Lewis, Reagan Kierstead, Hank Lewis, Charley Bellman, Ellie Alford, Mickey Kierstead, Tommy Lewis, Timmy Lewis, and Kobe Kierstead. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, Ben Alford, Matt Kierstead, and Kelly Lewis.

A graduate of West Carrollton High School, Class of 1983, Sterling went on to serve his country in the United States Army Reserve from 1984 to 1992 as a Carpenter and Masonry Specialist (MOS 51B). Stationed at Kings Mills, Ohio, he took pride in his service and was activated during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His time in uniform reflected the same dedication and dependability he carried throughout his life.

Following his military service, Sterling worked at Fraser Paper Mill, as a Direct Sales Representative for Time Warner, and later as a Warehouse Supervisor for Putnam Plastics. He was known as a hard worker who could be counted on in any role he held.

Sterling also served his community as a firefighter with the Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department. Whether in service to his country or his community, he was someone who stepped forward when others needed help.

An avid fisherman, woodworker, mechanic, and problem solver, Sterling was the person family and friends called when something needed fixed. Whether it was plumbing, electrical work, small engine repair, or a home project, he showed up with tools in hand, ready to solve the problem and often turn it into a story worth telling later.

More than anything, he will be remembered for his willingness to help others and the deep love he had for his family. He was the person everyone could rely on, the one who showed up no matter the situation. Whether it was changing a tire on the side of the road, hanging lights for a wedding reception, or unloading a moving van, Sterling was always there for his girls. He was the safety net when things went astray, the one who stepped in when something needed fixed, handled, or made right.

A Celebration of Life honoring Sterling will be held on Thursday, July 2, at the American Legion, 35 N. Main Street, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342.
