Sylvia J. Claggett

CLAGGETT, Sylvia J. Of Trotwood, formerly New Lebanon, went to be with Jesus on August 16, 2014. She was born January 7, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John E. and Zelma Claggett. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John F. Claggett. Sylvia loved life and enjoyed meeting new people; everyone who met her became her instant friend. She attended Dayspring Ministries Church in Beavercreek, Ohio and participated in the Caring Heart Ministry. She lived in New Lebanon most her life before moving to Echoing Woods Residential Center in 2009. She worked at MONCO for many years and then Community Connections, both in Dayton, Ohio. She lived in Fairhope, Alabama for 15 years where she attended "workshop." She enjoyed the warm climate and the Mobile Bay and Gulf Shores, Alabama waters. She loved her family most of all. She is survived by her siblings; Danny (Sheila) Claggett, Kenneth (Jeanie) Claggett, Linda (Chuck) Colvin, Jeri (Jack) Stair, and Lori Gillen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would to thank Echoing Woods Residential Center for all the love and care they provided Sylvia during her stay. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20 from 10AM to 11AM at ROGERS' FUNERAL HOME, 324 W. Main St., New Lebanon. The Funeral Service will begin at 11AM with Pastor Ken Day officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Valley Cemetery, Gratis. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sylvia's memory may be made to Echoing Woods Residential Center, 5455 Salem Bend Dr., Trotwood, Ohio 45426.
