SAMPSON, Tex Age 66 of Pleasant Hill, passed away June 27, 2014. He was born in Pennington Gap, VA on Dec. 23, 1947 to his parents, Lorenzo & Hazel (Ward) Sampson. Tex was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Earl, Willard, and Ervine Sampson; and 2 sisters, Alice Lambert, and Mary Taylor. Survived by his son, Danial Sampson; daughter, Tammy (Gerald) Bowerman; daughter, Christi (Toby) Siler; 3 brothers, Cecil, Dow, and Clarence Sampson; 4 sisters, Virginia Bake, Norva Lee Roop, Wilma Jean Gilbert, and Judy Johnson; 5 grandchildren, Jewel, Jarrod, Stephan, Kasey, and Cassidy; and many more family members and friends. Tex was a very proud U.S. Marine Veteran. He served in the Vietnam War. He was good at everything, a true "Jack of All Trades." He loved to spend time with his grandkids and touched many lives. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM with funeral service to follow at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Rogers' Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Chaplain Kenneth Boyd officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Trissel cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dayton V.A. Hospice or Chaplains Office, 4100 W.
