The Teeter Family

June 1, 1959 — December 25, 2021

TEETER, Terence N, Susan Jean (Back), and Benjamin Ryon We have been subjected to one of the most devastating times in our lives. How do you adjust to the loss of the entire family within twelve days? First, the son (Ben), then the wife and mother (Susan), and finally, the husband and father (Terry). How do you comprehend all the loss and their unanswered hopes and dreams? The more you think on the details the more overwhelming it becomes. I am not a reader or writer of obituaries but I have been left with this task and since I am a would-be creative writer this will be some sort of twisted and dark fairy tale. With the loss of all of them it could not be anything else. It is not the intention to insult anyone or leave anyone out of the details, but somethings are not known to the author. We loved them very much and miss them all impossibly. I will start with the first loss in our sad little tale. Benjamin Ryon Teeter. Born November 28, 1982. Passed December 14, 2021. Complications due to Covid. The entire family had asthma. Ben had been vaccinated for Covid but problems caused by other health issues were too much for him. Ben had an Associate’s degree and he was working on his Master’s degree. He loved his work as a social worker. Being able to help his clients to make sure they had what they needed. His co-workers and friends miss him greatly. Ben loved playing video games and through his gaming he had met a lovely lady by the name of Moretta Song from Singapore. He had been to visit her in 2018. She came to visit in 2019. They were engaged and planned to announce that to everyone in the new year. The family loved God and regularly attended church at the New Lebanon Assembly of God. They were generous to those in need and all loved to read and play games. Any donations made in their names will be given to the church. I wish to express gratitude to the very helpful members to the family while they were here and to us who live hours away. Susan Jean (Back) Teeter was born August 24, 1957. Passed December 21, 2021. Susan went into the hospital the evening of the 14th and she struggled with Covid for the next week. At one point they were talking about sending her home. The next day she passed away. Susan was a serious crafter. Most of the family, and a lot of strangers, have something she put together. She crocheted, cross stitched, sewed, scrap booked, among the many things that caught her interest. She met with ladies from the church and crafted a couple days a week she also did children’s church. She headed a Christian reading group. She had several jobs over the years. Ben was home schooled. Since its inception, she did the books for Terry’s business. She will be missed greatly by so many. Susan was preceded in death by her parents John and Shirley Back, Sr; and her brother Samuel Back. Susan is survived by a sister, Althea Back Parker; and two brothers, John Back, Jr. and David Back; an uncle, Pete Morley; and an aunt, Jean Ann Hall; and many more loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends from all over. Terry and Susan were both originally from around Mansfield, Ohio. They met at Bible College in Dayton and married on May 24, 1980. They chose to work where jobs were plentiful around Dayton. Terence N Teeter was born June 1, 1959. Passed December 25, 2021. Terry went into the hospital December 19th and he was gone Christmas morning. Terry was a machinist by trade; he went to Pioneer JVS for his initial training and worked for many years learning along the way. At one point he decided to create his own company – CNC Innovations. He would either program the computer-controlled mills and lathes or he would teach the customers how to do it themselves. The tougher the job, the bigger the challenge. He was loved and appreciated by many and will definitely be missed. He traveled all over the USA and around the globe for his work when he was needed. Terry loved cars and racing. He loved watching NASCAR and he did auto-crossing very successfully for the last 20 or so years. He could and would work on just about anything. He liked to figure it out even at a young age. While he was perfectly able to work on pretty much anything and he hated to pay someone to fix it. So, while he was very competent, he didn’t always have time on his side so there are a lot of incomplete projects around the old homestead. And yes, his middle name was the letter N, no period. He was the third son. Timothy Lee (Lee is our father’s middle name). Thomas Dory (Dory was our father’s father’s name). Our mother’s father’s name was Clarence Nevel. Mom was willing to turn Clarence into Terence, but she was not going to stick her little baby with Nevel. Terry loved the TNT initials. Terry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Clarence and Vera Boterf along with the brother Thomas Dory lost in a private plane crash in 1972 (unfortunately this is not the first three family member funeral we have been a part of). Iris Irene (Boterf) Teeter, his mother, passed in 2012. She was an only child. There is a long list of grands and great grands who passed during his life. Terry is survived by his father, Ronald Lee Teeter; his oldest brother, Timothy Lee Teeter Nancy Darlene (Hurlburt) Teeter; his sister Traci Lynn Teeter; and youngest brother, Troy Alan Teeter; two aunts, Martha (Teeter) Walker and Bessie (Teeter) Kline; and many more loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. They were looking forward to heaven and, although they went there much too soon (at least for us), they should all be there together and are able to see all those who proceeded them.
