Vera Lentz-Opdyke

LENTZ-OPDYKE, Vera Age 97, resident of Tipp City, formerly of Trotwood went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2017. She was born on May 11, 1919 to her parents Albert & Ruth (Leis) Shock, who preceded her in death along with her first husband, Raymond Lentz; second husband, James W. Opdyke; 2 brothers, Harold and Kermit Shock; and son-in-law, Robert W. W. Thau, Jr. Vera is survived by her daughter, Marlene Lentz Thau; grandchildren, Lisa (Joseph) Kinsman, and Kevin (Christy) Thau; great-grandchildren, Brady, Grace, and Genevieve Kinsman, and Gabriel and Ava Thau; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Vera received her education from Wittenberg University and Miami Jacobs where she earned her nursing degree. She worked as a nurse caring for others for 58 years. Vera was also a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Amaranth, and White Shrine. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday evening with Eastern Star and Hospice of Miami Valley Nursing Pin Ceremony to follow at 8:00 PM all at Rogers Funeral Home, 324 West Main St., New Lebanon, Ohio 45345. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holp Cemetery in Farmersville.
