Virginia Sue Davis

DAVIS, Virginia Sue 84 of Dayton, OH, originally from Big Stone Gap, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2011. She is survived by her daughters Sue (Kimble) Ramsey and Teresa Prather, sons in law Don Ramsey, David Prather and Steve Kimble, her sister Billie Jean Stapleton, sister in law Lois Davidson, grandchildren Randy Kimble and wife Nikki, Penny (Prather) Finney and husband Aaron, Jason Prather and wife Becci, Katie Kimble and fiancé Ryan Mowery, Joshua Prather and wife Rachel, and great grand-triplets Avery, Noah, and Max Kimble. She was preceded in death by her husband Bascom Davis, her sisters Frances, June, and Dot, and brothers William and Jimmy. She worked as a teacher's aide for Dayton Public Schools, and later at Sears Department Store in Trotwood. She was a long-time and faithful member of Crestview Baptist Church of Clayton. She was a loving matriarch for her family, and always exuded strength, independence, and honesty that was so revered by all that she touched. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 12 at Crestview Baptist Church, 6600 Salem Avenue, Clayton, OH 45315. Interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
