Virginia Louise Landis

LANDIS, Virginia Louise Age 98 of Tipp City, formerly of Trotwood, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 after a long and fulfilling life. She was born in Dayton on Dec. 8, 1914 to her parents, William Franklin & Betha B. (Ullmer) Gates. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Willis Landis in 2005; daughter, Cinda (Landis) Thomas; son-in-law, Bob Thomas; sister, Bernice (Gates) Swinger; and brother, Roland Gates. Virginia is survived by her Grandchildren, John Erik & Jessica Thomas, Dr. Marvin Robert & Jenni Thomas, and Robert Eugene & Josie Thomas; nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Kemmerer, Catherine Gates, Bill & Judy Gates, Larry & Alice Landis, Dick & Gale Marker, Joe & Denise Giardullo; great-grandchildren, Jake, Brody, and Oliver; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Virginia loved knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, and her family. She was a member of the National Honor Society, class of 1932 from Trotwood, and a longtime member of Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at The Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, 525 N. Broadway, Trotwood, OH 45426 with Pastor Theodore Scheidt officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
