ADAMS, Wanda May Age 59, of Trotwood, her spirit left her body on May 19, 2014. She was born March 21, 1955 in Dayton to the late Arvel and Thelma Adams. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Donald and Herbert Adams. She is survived by her partner of 20 years, Dawn Wojcik; brother, David Adams; sisters-in-law, Sue and Jeannie Adams; nieces and nephews, David, Shirley, Angela, Tim, Todd, and Ty Adams; and many more family and friends. Wanda had a unique bawdy sense of humor bringing laughter to us all. She was a Social Studies teacher for 30 years at Northmont High School and was a co-founder of the NHS Peer Facilitator Program. In addition, she was a 29 year Education Association leader, including NDEA President and Vice-President, WOEA President, and a WOEA/OEA/NEA Rep. Assembly delegate. She was a community activist with a deep love for the City of Trotwood. As a life-long Democrat, Wanda had been a Precinct Captain and President of the Trotwood Democratic Club from 2008 to 2014. As a participant in an IPF drug study from 2011 to 2014, she hoped to be able to pass along a cure. "Fear is the lock and laughter is the key." The Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 25 from 2PM to 5PM at Trotwood Church of the Brethren, 208 E. Main St., Trotwood, 45426. A Funeral Service will begin at 5PM with Pastor Paula Bowser officiating.
