COOK, William Donald “Don”

Age 76, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Cook; mother, Daisy Mae Cook (Markwell); and brother, Alvin Edgar Cook.

Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nina Jean Cook (Wilson); son, William Todd Cook and his wife Tracy Anne Cook and their daughter Taylor Nicole Cook. Daughter, Jennifer Lynn Riegel (Cook) and her husband Lowell E. Riegel II, and their sons, Zachary Nathaniel Riegel and Jacob Cole Riegel. Sisters-in-law, Inas D. Cook (Wilson) and Pam E. Reynolds (Wilson); nephews, Timothy L. Cook, Toby D. Cook, and Jody S. Cook; niece, Jessica E. Anderson (Reynolds); and many cousins and great nieces and nephews.

After attending the University of Dayton, Don worked as a supervisor at Dayton Tire and Rubber from 1965-1972. He then ran his own car lot business, Don Cook’s Auto Sales, from 1972-1992. He owned several trotter and pacer race horses and enjoyed watching the races.

Don loved watching baseball, basketball, and football, and going dirt bike riding. He enjoyed reading, old classic cars, car auctions-especially corvettes, and traveling all over North America. Don was young at heart and enjoyed life. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-2pm with funeral service to begin at 2:00pm on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at: www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
