Johnson, William Malcolm “Bill”

Age 87 of Trotwood, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by immediate family on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was born in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania on February 5, 1937 to his parents, Harry William & Ruby (Siar) Johnson, both who have preceded him in death.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary (Shewen) Johnson; children, Laurie (Kevin) Moses, Jeff (Missy) Johnson, Lisa (Tom) Spatz, and Mike (Jennifer) Johnson; grandchildren, Aaron (Caroline), Spencer, and Trevor Moses, Cody and Cole (Julia) Johnson, Tara and Cassidy Spatz, Megan (Cameron) Gayheart, Austin (Lauren) Johnson, and Ashley (Logan) Welbaum; great grandchildren, Ella, Cruz, Coco, Liam, Katie, Beckett, Sadie, Maryn, Mia, and 2 more on the way; also, 2 siblings, Jo & Larue.

As a former co-owner of Johnson's Flooring, a fourth-generation flooring business, he was well-respected in several communities for his dedicated craftsmanship in floor covering installation. Even after retirement, he remained involved in the business. An avid horseman with a keen eye for selecting the right horse, he picked some real winners over the years. He spent many weekends at local horse shows running barrels and poles. He cherished attending his kids', grandkids', and great-grandkids' sporting events, rodeos, concerts, and birthday parties. He loved gardening and could often be found maintaining his "mini-farm" even in his later years. Bill thoroughly enjoyed his friendly garden competitions with his special neighbor, Doug. Dining out was another joy, especially savoring his favorite hot soup from Miller's in Arcanum and biscuits and gravy from Victoria’s.

Visitation will be held from 12-2pm with military honors and family & friends sharing stories and memories to begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
