Wilma Jean Jones

JONES, Wilma Jean Age 85 of New Lebanon, passed over on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She was born in Duffield, Virginia on January 28, 1935 and was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Etta Frazier; sister, Charlene Maggard; 2nd husband, Leonard Short; and son-in-law, Henry Flemming. Wilma is survived by her brother, Harold Frazier; 3 daughters, Teresa (Garrett) Salyer and her husband Roger, Barbara (Garrett) Flemming; and Tammy (Garrett) Gibson and husband Jim; son, Jason Short and wife Shonda McKinney; grandchildren, Melissa Denny and husband Shaun, Melinda Hawk and husband Barry; David Flemming and his wife Rachel, Chelsea Gibson, Kenyon “James” Gibson; and 9 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Wilma was a strong and independent woman who overcame many obstacles in her life including living with Multiple Sclerosis. The illness did not win because she chose each day to fight it with courage and dignity. She was a loving mother and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be 10-11am with funeral to follow at 11:00 am on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
